"It was very interesting at the rehearsal. I got there early and was playing around at a bit more volume than I can do at home. I knew the 8" speaker would struggle at 'gig' levels especially with the gain switch on 'high' so I thought I'd experiment with a 4x12 Marshall cab that was there.

Through that it sounded amazing. More sustain to the notes and a lot of bass. It doesn't sound bad at all with the 8" speaker but through the 4x12 it was very impressive. Real searing lead sound.

I would say that it gives a 'produced' or eq'ed sound that is darker than my Fender which gives a flatter, wider sound. I think it'll be very good for recording with as the sound is very controlled especially when clean.

Loud too. I was playing with drums, bass, keyboards and another guitar and it held it's own without being flat out. I had the preamp and volume at around 2 o'clock and the power scaling fully to the right and then used the switches on different songs to suit. On more rocky stuff, the higher gain worked very well.

I was originally toying with the idea of just getting the head only but with this, there is always a speaker on hand for times when a lower volume is needed plus the flexibility to use something bigger if needed."

I received the amp today. I really liked it before and now I really love it!! A whole other side has come out of the amp courtesy of your mods - and no more mains hum! I tried it with my P90-loaded JJ Jewel - fantastic stuff. Looking forward to recording my other guitars through it too. It is now much more versatile than I had anticipated: all the normal sounds are in there, but with more clarity, it crunches, roars and I can even get a chunky modern hi-gain sound out of it. It was well worth the investment. Thank you!

This is great! There's so much versatility in the amp now - everything from real warmth in the clean settings to lovely harmonic overdrive! And at quiet volumes too! I tell you, I'm really impressed! I love it! It covers all my styles - (well, haven't tried my Johnny Marr impressions yet, but I'm sure it will do that too)!

"For someone who mainly uses the amp at home the modifications have given me very useful toneful amps – the power scaling and gain switch give a great range of options without upsetting the neighbours. Power amp valve break-up at home was the ‘holy grail’ for me and now I can have it at any volume I wish. Also my guitars and the few pedals I use in front of the amp all now sound like I originally expected them to – the real bonus.
