Epiphone Valve Junior Sound Clips
The clips were made with a fully modified
Valve Junior amp with Power Scaling™ using
a Samson USB mic.
My Sound Clip used a Fender
Classic 60's Strat.
Mark's Sound Clips used a US Fender Strat with
Lindy Fralin Blues pickups.
Why
you need Power Scaling™ and a Master Volume. This
is nowhere near full
volume but you can tell how loud it is compared to my voice. It's
too loud for most people to play at home and it's still not breaking up much.

Pre-amp distortion at low volume.
You can make it quieter or louder
with the Master Volume control and get less break up by changing the Voice, Gain and Volume controls.

Output tube distortion at low volume using Power
Scaling™.
You can get more or
less distortion than this and at higher and lower volumes by adjusting the Power
Scale,
Volume,
Master Volume, Voice and Gain switches. The
final sound is a combination of all the controls on the amp plus, of course, the way you play and your
guitar/pickups.

Fender Champ 600 Sound Clips
The clips were made with a modified
Fender Champ 600 amp with
a Master Volume control extra (see Items
for Sale)
using a Samson USB mic and a US Fender Strat with Lindy Fralin Blues
pickups.

Clean sound at low volume.
The AA764 tone has improved components but is the stock tone circuit. The 5E1 tone has much higher
gain and a more open sound (to my ear) than the AA764. They are recorded
at the same volume
i.e. the volume control is turned down on the 5E1 clip.

Bluesy Crunch at low volume.
You can make it quieter or louder with the Master Volume control and
get less break up by changing the Volume control. The Champ is not a high gain monster so if you
want a LOT of distortion this may not be the amp for you - a Valve Junior may be more what you're looking
for.
